Mac os x 10.7 iso for pc
Once you've made these changes, you'll need to save them. In most cases you'll only need to press the escape key a few times to get back to the main screen, and then F10 to save and exit. Your BIOS settings page will tell you which keys save, exit, and so on, so you should have no trouble figuring out the right keys to press. Now we're ready to actually install OS X, but this is going to be a fairly in-depth process that requires a number of tools. Before getting started, be sure you have the following:.
To do so, follow these steps:. Plug it into your hackintosh, boot up, and press the key on your keyboard that will take you to the boot selection menu. If you don't know what it is, just look on your BIOS boot screen. If the thumb drive boots successfully you'll see a thumb drive with the tonymacx86 logo appear on your screen along with a single boot option: Choose it and boot into the installer. In some cases you may need additional boot flags to get to the installer. You can just type these in at the boot option screen before you press enter to choose "USB" and boot into the installer.
When the Mac OS X Lion Installer finishes booting, you'll be presented with a welcome screen and can choose your language. Do that, but before you can continue you'll need to format your disk. Go to the Utilities menu and choose Disk Utility. Select the disk you want to use for installation and format it. To format it properly, follow these steps:.
Mac OS X Snow Leopard Free Download DVD/ISO
With your destination disk ready to go, you can now run the Lion installer just like you would on any other Mac. When it completes you might be met with an "Installation Failed" message at the end or not , but that's nothing to worry about. When the installation is complete just restart your machine. When you do, access your boot menu and choose the USB drive.
You still need it to boot up. When you see the familiar boot options screen again you'll now be able to choose the drive you installed Lion on. Pick that and press enter, also entering any boot flags you used when booting into the installer previously. Now that you've got Lion installed, it's time to make all your hardware work properly. For that, you need to install some drivers. Copy MultiBeast to your hackintosh's hard drive and open it up. Click through the install windows and get to the options page. What you choose is going to vary based on your build, but here's a look at all your choices and what they do, using our sample build as a guide:.
If you're building a Sandy Bridge-based hackintosh with a motherboard using Realtek ethernet, be sure to check out Lnx2Mac's ethernet driver. It's released separately from MultiBeast and sometimes the version it provides is not the latest. That is currently the case and the latest version supports newer socket meaning Sandy Bridge-compatible motherboards. If you're having trouble with your ethernet, download it directly. Once you've made all of your choices, go ahead and run MultiBeast. When it's finished, this generally means you're done and can restart to your brand new hackintosh.
How to Install OS X on Your Hackintosh
In some cases you may need to find additional drivers that MultiBeast didn't provide. If the driver wasn't provided by the manufacturer or downloadable on their web site, use popular hackintosh forums like InsanelyMac and tonymacx86 for help. Either way, once you're done with MultiBeast you can install those drivers as well to finish up the job.
Congratulations on all your hard work. You now have a functional hackintosh!
When you installed Lion you likely received the most up-to-date version because the App Store automatically provides you with the latest. If you bought a thumb drive that may not be the case and you'll need to update. At some point you will need to update anyhow, so here's what you need to know. For the most part, updating is pretty straightforward and you won't run into issues, but it's good to check tonymacx86's blog when updates are released to see what you'll need to do.
In most cases you'll just download the latest update from Apple directly rather than running Software Update , remove Sleepenabler. So how do you know what drivers were overwritten? I would like to re-use my graphics card EVGA gtx ,and power supply w coolmax. I currently have a 3ghz core2duo, but that core i3 sounds nice because it runs cooler. Do you think that my gpu will fit in that case Its a tight squeeze in my current case? Is this card even good for hackintoshing?
Make a Bootable Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Installer from a USB Flash Drive
If it's a longer video card, it may not fit. The hard drive bays are located right in front of the PCI-E slots, so there's not a lot of space for long expansion cards. If you've already got that card in another case, you may just want to use your existing case since you know it will fit in there. Thanks man.
You don't even know the half of it. The sad thing is all the hours I wasted before I finally realized how simple the final solution was. I tried multiple combinations of different boot disks, creating my own boot disks, manually trying to install different versions of different kexts, etc. In the end, it turned out that the only reason Multibeast wasn't working was because of the busratio setting, so I went through a lot of pain for nothing. You can also fix the problem by replacing the system's kernel with the iBoot kernel, but I think simply modifying the com.
You mean can you put iBoot on a USB stick? I don't think you can, as far as I know it is specifically designed to boot from a CD. I would recommend going to Wal-Mart and picking up a pak of rewriteable CDs. Core 2 Duo chips are supported so you should be fine with the CPU. I'm not sure about your motherboard and video though. Search for info about them separately when seeking compatibility info. As far as the video card is concerned, just look for info about the GeForce There do seem to be people out there that have gotten it to work.
You do have to be careful when running updates. I updated mine and got a kernel panic on the subsequent boot. My recommendation for handling updates from Apple would be to set up Time Machine and make a backup right before running the update. That way if the update does render the machine useless you'll have a way to revert to the prior state. Great article, Jorge. I can tell a lot of people have been looking for a detailed walkthrough like this. You put in a lot of work on this one, good job!
I had tried the 'Hackintosh' thing a few months ago on my AMD machine. It turned out to be pretty raw. Some things worked and some didn't. The forums are nice place to lookup but you need to waste a helluva time on that. Atleast, thats what my experience was. Unless you have compatible hardware, don't waste time on this. It worked on my friend's pc and it took him about a month or so to get it right. I don't want to discourage anybody but you need either compatible set of hardware or need to spend time on it to make it work.
A very good weekend project if you get all things right. Those who don't want the headache, try EFiX. The sad thing is that it doesn't support AMD yet. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't recommend trying this setup with an existing system as you will need to repartition the drive and effectively wipe out the old system. If you want OS X to coexist with your current setup, you may wish to purchase a separate hard drive to install it.

Searching yielded no results. Sorry, had typoed that comment. Meant to say iBoot will not work with AMD chips. Fixed the comment to reflect that. Been trying to do a whole lot of responding in a short period of time.
Before You Begin
I made an invalid assumption that AMD will not work. You should be able to dual boot. If I were to build a multi-boot system, I would install the other operating systems first and then Mac OS X since the boot loader needs to be installed last anyway. I did not try it with VMWare, but I kind of have my doubts. I would search tonymacx86's forum to see if anyone has had any luck using iBoot to install on VMWare. I've used this guide http: Thanks for the tip. I wonder why they bother dumping it to a disk image first rather than just suggesting installation directly from the installation media. I did it with an old GeForce GT and it works great.
Nice tutorial, but I think dual boot is a lot more simple, I can imagine trying this and it going pear shaped half way through: What do you mean by going "pear shaped?
